Unofficially we've heard the Beacon is likely to change hands and therefore not necessarily be a venue anymore
In trouble from the start due to poor trading conditions and a bad reputation, The Beacon was always going to be a tough one to turn around
Despite the beautiful location and late license, Claire the current landlord has been unable to turn a big enough profit to stave off the inevitable - or so we've heard, meaning the pub license will almost certainly change hands.
At this early stage, no-one can be sure what the pub will be next but it is unlikely to stay a music based venue if it changes hands, if previous form on jsuch cases is anything to go by
If true, this acts as a yet another blow for the music scene in MK as the Beacon has been host to a number of raves for drum and bass, hardcore and house parties for the last year or so.

Radio Free had intentions to get the place jumping by installing a small studio in the building, but this came to nothing as we were unable to raise the sum needed for broadband for the building

Of course we wish the Beacon staff and freinds the best of luck for the future, and honestly hope that something can save this brave attempt at redressing MK's music scene at the last minute.
